This week was really nice! Monday I worked in KG for only half my normal time and then Lizzy Mam asked me to do this project for her... I REALLY like projects! (= Tuesday I went to breakfast with Charlene and that was very nice and then did some planning for the April team that's coming sooner than I can even imagine. I can NOT wait to see my dad!! I've told everyone my "daddy is coming in a few weeks! and YOU get to meet him!" The children are really excited! Wednesday I was in the Creche and the pics im posting are of a few of the kids in there... i'm in love. We also have guests on Wednesdays, this week we were supposed to have pastor and his family but pastor got sick so instead we just had his three kids. complete chaos. I loved every minute of it! It's strange to miss that but I really do. I miss a full house of people and yelling and laughter 24/7. Not that we don't have that here, but life here is just definitely not as crazy and hectic as my house at home. I miss it. Thursday, yesterday, I had a slow morning and then walked up to Old Manali... I LOVE these hippies! The warmer it gets the more and more we see. I really can't wait to spend my Saturday's up in Old Manali just talking with them. I'm really drawn to them and can't wait to get see what they are all about! (= Oh and then Laura and I found these awesome hammocks! In the states it would be about $60 bucks... we got them for the equivalent of $5 and it was one of the best purchases of my life! We came straight home and hung them on the top balcony of the building next to us and it's absolutely perfect up there! SO happy! I layed up there reading and playing with my new best friend-- she's 9. She read a princess book and I read the Bible. It was bliss! Today I taught how to make tortilla chips in my Friday Fun cooking class. They loved them! I love that I'm in India teaching how to make a Mexican dish (: Apparently the teachers like my food bc now a few of them come and watch me. I told this lady today that if I teach her, she has to teach me. She said yes! Don't set your expectations too high though, Indian food is tricky. These spices are like nothing i've ever tasted. I'm fortunate to love the food and can tolerate the spice without curd but not so many are this lucky! ha
I'm sitting on the balcony watching the rain clouds roll in. Rain is my favorite and I'm sad to find out monsoon season is after we leave =/ oh well. Such is life!
This afternoon I'm going to get my nose pierced! Some of you might not like this idea (cough cough mom) BUT wait until you see it and then you can judge it! I'll post pics this weekend.
Tomorrow I'm taking a trek with the youth group and I'm really excited about it!
Oh- I'm also reading a new book called "Irresistible Revolution" by Shane Claiborne. I highly suggest it! You may want to sell everything and live in the ghetto, like me, but hopefully you have friends to keep you semi-level headed (= but really, if you could please work on talking my parents into selling my car while I'm gone and buying me a scooter in replacement, I would be forever happy! I hope that this finds all of you well. India is still amazing, beautiful, and as hospitable as ever! Peace and Grace.
